Kazakh and Turkmen Leaders Strengthen Bilateral Ties During Central Asia Summit

Astana, Kazakhstan—In the backdrop of the VI Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of Central Asia, Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and Turkmenistan’s President Serdar Berdimuhamedov held significant talks.

President Tokayev expressed his gratitude to President Berdimuhamedov for his participation in the summit, emphasizing the importance of his visit in further promoting the multifaceted partnership between Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan.

President Berdimuhamedov reciprocated with thanks for the warm welcome extended by Kazakhstan, noting the dynamic development of bilateral relations between the two nations. He highlighted Turkmenistan’s strong commitment to deepening cooperation with Kazakhstan, mentioning the active political dialogue and expanding collaboration in trade, economic, cultural, and humanitarian fields.

The Turkmen leader extended an official invitation to President Tokayev to visit Turkmenistan this autumn and participate in an international forum celebrating the 300th anniversary of the renowned Turkmen poet, which underscores the cultural ties binding the two countries.

During their discussions, the leaders explored prospects for enhancing cooperation in key areas such as trade and economic relations, energy, oil and gas sectors, transport and logistics, as well as cultural and humanitarian exchanges. The meeting reflects the ongoing commitment of both nations to strengthen and diversify their bilateral partnership.
